This week: Fuhlen and sentiment.

This week it's fuhlen again, fuhlen or sentiment are methods of feeling rather than seeing what the opponent is going to do through sensitivity on the blade. This is very similar to the sticky hands of Wing Chun, or press hands of Tai Chi, it is nothing complicated, simply put you use your sword to both offend and defend, setting aside or subjecting your opponent at the same time offering him a constant threat. It's a great way of understanding the cross over logics of both Liechtenaur's longsword and Thibault's rapier. So it's longsword, rapier, and longsword vs rapier, see you there
